As you may or may no know, last year I attempted to start up the "simple story project", to no avail. There was no interest or participation for the outside world, so the effort I put into the website felt like a bit of a waste. Well, this year is no different from last in that I am restarting the Simple Story Project, except not as a website. Rather, I will do it on DA, and whomever wants to join me - however occasional their entries are - are welcome and encouraged to.
What is the simple story project?
Basically, storytelling in two forms - literature, and visual media - whatever mode you choose (painting, photography, etc.). Every post consists of two important but equally strong parts, the visual media, which should compel the viewer to imagine a story behind it, and the story (or poem, 6 word memoir, what have you) should depict the emotion, or event portrayed by the visual media. Granted, there will be crappy entries - countless from myself - but that's not the point. The point is just to write and practice your art. Art comes in many forms, but all strive to tell a story. By combining two forms of art - writing and visual - participants explore the ideas of emotion and storytelling, in respect to both forms of art in an entry.
How do I "submit"?
posts can be written on your blog, here, wherever you feel fit. I just ask that you share it with us, though even that is optional
On DA: add the tags/keywords "SSP" or "SimpleStoryProject"
On Google +: Use #simplestoryproject in your link (goes for twitter as well)
Eventually, I may build a site to aggregate the posts, but most likely any posts will live in the history of my (hopefully our) browser(s).
Thank you to any who are interested, and good luck. There is no posting schedule, it can be daily, twice weekly, monthly, sporadically - it's up to you.

Random Rambling and Ranting.
So, I've done relatively little this week, and it's actually making me angry. Sure, I wrote a screenplay, but what's the probability that a broke student like myself would be able to arrange permits, transportation, temporary housing, etc. for actors? Furthermore, what's the likelihood that I could even arrange actors when I'm a "famed" anti-social (a title I'd like to refute, as I have no inclination to be anti-social, rather, I'm inclined not to talk, even around friends). I digress, that is the only thing I've done this week.
In two(ish) weeks, I'll find out if I passed the CHSPE, and then I'll be a college student. What kind of life am I
On the Necessity of Defending Ideals.
So it's late in the GOP nominations, and by now we've gotten pretty used to the slanderous rhetoric the candidates are using. Rick Santorum especially uses this tactic, preferring it to factual debate. Rick Santorum - who, on a tangent, has the greatest last name of all time... google it - seems to have a firm opposition to the use of logos in a debate. He masks his quite obvious attacks on President Obama and the other candidate in one-two 'facts' (and I write it that way because he has a history of saying purported facts that are, in fact, either complete hyperbole or out right wrong. And this begs the question - when did the american peopl
A bit of self-advertising.
Hullo fellow writing-prone DA users! I was wondering, what kind of writing do you like to do and why? What kind of emotional, physical, or other release does writing give you (if anything)?
Also if you're stuck for interesting words, may I suggest www.simplestoryproject.com
that is all.
Quick Note/Apology
Sorry I've saturated your inboxes with car photos (those of you who dislike it), I promise to also take/paint/draw other things.
